Welcome![edit]

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. The following links will help you begin editing on Wikipedia:

Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia:

The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome! Usurped[edit]

Can you please explain? Thanks. El_C 05:26, 3 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hello? Please acknowledge. I've reverted all your edits (but undid a few that were adding an archive), because I am just not understanding what you're doing. El_C 05:53, 3 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The "asianewsnet.net" domain is an illegal site in Japan. This is because the domain to which the link was linked expired and the person who obtained it changed it to illegal content. I am delete this link because it encourages crime in Japan.

What do you mean by illegal content? And how does it encourage crime? Please explain. There is no content in the domain. It isn't illegal. And please don't revert edits without giving an edit summary, as doing so means your'e reverting vandalism, and @El C: wasn't vandalising. Thanks! Also, please use an edit summary. Thanks. Nigos (t@lk Contribs) 09:41, 3 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Block[edit]

Yoshida Shoji, I blocked you from editing for a short while to stop you from reverting me or continuing those usurped changes in new edits without a proper explanation. Sorry for the inconvenience. Again, my question is: what is this usurped you are adding to dead links? I've never seen that before. What illegal content are you referring to? Is this being done on other Wikipedias and Wikiprojects? If there is an issue, there should probably be a centralized notice about it. Rather than a brand new account attending to it all by themselves without an explanation. Please explain, in detail. Thanks again. El_C 11:42, 3 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

For what it's worth, I saw several of these "usurped" changes and I did not understand them either. As is my usual practice with things that I do not understand, I just wandered off into the forest, mumbling vaguely, and ignored the edits. But I did hope that someone would work out what was happening, and take any necessary action. So thank you, El C, for following this up. Yoshida Shoji, I think El C is trying to help, but you need to explain what the problem is, more clearly. Good luck to everyone. MPS1992 (talk) 19:56, 3 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
El _ C, thank you for your concern. Now, let me explain in detail what is happening in the "asianewsnet.net" domain. The "asianewsnet.net" domain has now replaced e-commerce sites for pharmaceuticals such as Viagra and Levitra. This includes drugs that have not been approved in Japan. However, when accessing this site from a country other than Japan, "404 Error" screen was intentionally displayed. This appears to be a workaround to avoid being tracked by LegitScript (https://www.legitscript.com/). The "asianewsnet.net" domain has acquired over 200 links from this Wikipedia. The "asianewsnet.net" domain has been changed from the previous owner to the current owner. Therefore, the content of the article has changed, so I deleted the link because I thought it would not be helpful for Wikipedia users.Could you let me continue working?--Yoshida Shoji (talk) 06:06, 5 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
El C, What does the "asianewsnet.net" domain look like? If you do not receive a response, begin removing the "asianewsnet.net" domain link. Thank you.--Yoshida Shoji (talk) 06:49, 7 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Yoshida Shoji. I have seen your edit to the asianewsnet reference. Please use an edit summary that explains what you are doing, as it is not immediately clear. If you simply explain "asianewsnet.net is now a scam site, setting dead-url=unfit to prevent linking to it" then it will be clear and people will be less likely to revert you. ST47 (talk) 09:28, 8 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

ST47, thank you. That's very helpful.--Yoshida Shoji (talk) 09:46, 8 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, I see. Thanks! Nigos (t@lk Contribs) 10:00, 8 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Yes; I set my VPN to Japan and it showed what you told us. Nigos (t@lk Contribs) 10:05, 8 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Nigos, Thank you for your confirmation. I'm glad you understand.--Yoshida Shoji (talk) 14:58, 8 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
So is "usurped" a wiki-code thing, or did you make it up? El_C 06:34, 12 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
El_C, "usurped" uses WIKI code. Preventing and repairing dead links Here is the code.--Yoshida Shoji (talk) 07:03, 12 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, thanks. I learned something new! El_C 07:08, 12 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
