I feel like you can't explain every single concept in layman's terms, but I don't know which concepts should be explained and which can be assumed knowledge. Maybe this Wiki manual on math writing can help? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style/Mathematics
I think your article as it stands might also be too dependent on too few sources, and I'm not sure whether it's just because some things haven't been cited yet or if there's original research.
Including a "See Also" section and expanding the "Applications" section might also be helpful.
