[edit]Hi there! Thanks for agreeing to at least keep the entry about the false stone ship. I have lived on the island for a large part of my life and spoken to the farmers who built the false ship. All good sources on Gotland just ignore the thing, that is why it is so hard to find reliable sources about. But every summer there are hoards of tourists visiting the thing, believing that it is a real stone ship, so I thought it would be good to have some entry about it. The farmer who owns the land where it is has also put up a small shop next to it and is making good money of his hoax. Sometimes it is very difficult to provide good sources for what might seem to be very obvious things. Cheers, w.carter-Talk 22:55, 29 November 2015 (UTC)
- Yeah. If it isn't listed on RAÄ, that's good enough for me. Sadly though, one needs a better source for it than a journal from "Svenska slagruteförbundet", which do deal in pseudoscience. If you can find a credible source for the ship being not just unlisted by RAÄ but also fake, please insert it. And from what I have laerned about people for the gutnish countryside by means of liberal doses of drikka and lambskalle, this sounds like just the thing they would do. :) --ZgB (talk) 23:09, 29 November 2015 (UTC)
- I'll keep my eyes open, but I doubt something will come up. Being a sort of "ambassador" for Gotland here on EngWiki is not always easy with all the things the rest of the islanders are up to. :) If you ever long for some drikke again, I have written a rather extensive article about it: Gotlandsdricka. Be well, w.carter-Talk 23:20, 29 November 2015 (UTC)
- Btw, a modern stone circle in the vicinity of Visby (Vibble) has also recently been created. However, that one is well documented [1] [2] [3]. w.carter-Talk 23:33, 29 November 2015 (UTC)
