Stana Katic's descent

[edit]

Hi. I reverted your recent changes (see here) to the article on Stana Katic, because the previously existing description of her ancestry as being "Croatian Serb" is supported by a citation to a reliable source (Stana's own statement in an earlier edition of her own blog site).

If you disagree with this action, I strongly urge you to go to the article's talk page (Talk:Stana Katic), engage other editors in a proper discussion, and obtain a consensus on the matter before changing the article again. Please note that repeated changes to an article in defiance of consensus (or without even trying to reach a consensus) may put you at risk for sanctions (such as blocking) per the policy prohibiting edit warring.

Additionally, please note that a general "Discretionary Sanctions" regimen was placed over "topics related to the Balkans, broadly interpreted" by Wikipedia's Arbitration Committee in 2011. After having received an initial warning (namely, this notice which you are currently reading), any uninvolved administrator may levy restrictions as an Arbitration Enforcement action against editors acting disruptively in this topic area. Since a Discretionary Sanctions notice is required to be in a precise, specified form, I am including the standard notice here.

This message contains important information about an administrative situation on Wikipedia. It does not imply any misconduct regarding your own contributions to date.

Please carefully read this information:

The Arbitration Committee has authorised discretionary sanctions to be used for pages regarding the Balkans, a topic which you have edited. The Committee's decision is here.

Discretionary sanctions is a system of conduct regulation designed to minimize disruption to controversial topics. This means uninvolved administrators can impose sanctions for edits relating to the topic that do not adhere to the purpose of Wikipedia, our standards of behavior, or relevant policies. Administrators may impose sanctions such as editing restrictions, bans, or blocks. This message is to notify you sanctions are authorised for the topic you are editing. Before continuing to edit this topic, please familiarise yourself with the discretionary sanctions system. Don't hesitate to contact me or another editor if you have any questions.
