Vasily Artemiev (born 24 July 1987) is a Russian rugby union footballer. He plays as a wing.

Career

Artemiev's representative honours include Leinster Schools,U19’s & U20’s, Irish Schools & Irish U’19’s. Vasily came to Blackrock College school from Russia and won schools Junior Cup and Senior Cup medals there. He played for the successful Irish Universities side in 2007.

Vasiliy played for a number of years in University College Dublin for their rugby team whilst studying law under the stewardship of John McClean and Bobby Byrne. Vasily won the league and Metro Cup with UCD, and was also part of the Intervarsity Team which won the Conroy Cup in 2006 & 2007.

Returning to his native Moscow (Zelenograd) in 2008, he joined professional club VVA-Podmoskovye and began representing Russian Federation. To date he has collected 17 international caps and scored five tries.

Vasily will join Aviva Premiership side Northampton Saints for the 2011-2012 season.
