Vera Berdich (1915 in Cicero, Illinois – October 12, 2003 in Chicago) was an American printmaker.[1]

Life

Berdich graduated from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago with a B.A. in 1946. She worked for the WPA at Hull House[2] and taught etching at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago from 1947 to 1979.[3] She was an influence on the Chicago Imagists group.[4]

Her papers are held at the Archives of American Art.[5]

Collections

Berdich's works are held in the collections of the Victoria and Albert Museum,[6] Library of Congress,[7] Smithsonian Institution,[8] Museum of Modern Art,[9] and the Art Institute of Chicago.[10]
