The Walther PPQ is a semi-automatic pistol developed by the German company Carl Walther GmbH Sportwaffen of Ulm for law enforcement, security forces and the civilian shooting market as a potential replacement for the Walther P99. It is available chambered in either a 9×19mm Parabellum cartridge or a .40 S&W.[1]

Walther PPQ

Design

The PPQ shares many similarities with the Walther P99, and maintains compatibility with both P99 sights and second-generation magazines.[2] Changes include a re-designed grip, trigger guard, extended magazine release, forward slide serrations, and a 'Quick Defense Trigger' that is similar in many ways to a Springfield XD USA trigger, with a a .1" reset. This trigger mechanism requires no decocker. These changes first made their combined appearance in the Walther P99 RAD, a P99 variant made under contract to the Polish military.[3]
