Ward No. 29, Kolkata Municipal Corporation is an administrative division of Kolkata Municipal Corporation in Borough No. 3, covering parts of Narkeldanga neighbourhood in north Kolkata, in the Indian state of West Bengal. It forms a city municipal corporation council electoral constituency and is a part of Beleghata (Vidhan Sabha constituency).[1]

Overview

The boundaries of the ward are as follows: Satin Sen Sarani, Upendra Chandra Banerjee Road, Sastitala Road and Narkeldanga North Road are to the north. C.I.T. Road and Upendra Banerjee Road are to the east. Dhyan Debi Khanna Road and Motilal Sen Lane are in the south. The Circular Canal is to the west.[2][3]

Demographics

As per 2011 Census of India Ward No. 29, Kolkata Municipal Corporation, had a total population of 53,782, of which 28,942 (54%) were males and 28,840 (46%) were females. Population below 6 years was 5,550. The total number of literates in Ward No. 29 was 34,094 (70.69% of the population over 6 years).[4]
