West Jones High School, the "Home of the Mustangs," is a public school in Laurel, Mississippi, part of the Jones County School District. The school provides education to grades 7-12.

The school was named the state's Tech Prep Exemplary Site for 1975-2003 by the Tech Prep Exemplary Site Selection Committee.[1]

The school has become the high school of choice for most Jones County parents. A great academic school with high test scores and a great athletic program. In recent years, the campus has been renovated with a new Performing Arts Center, a new cafeteria, and new technology systems.

Mission Statement: "We will endeavor to provide a safe environment that enables all students in a multicultural society to maximize their learning potential through a variety of educational experiences in order to become productive citizens."

Noted alumni include linebacker JCJC & West Virginia Football Standout Archie "THE ROADBLOCK" Sims, quarterback Brett Hyatt (b. 1985) and place kicker Britt Barefoot (b. 1986) who helped lead their team to a South State Runner-up finish and a 13-1 historically record setting season during their senior year in 2004.[2] Another notable alumni is transgender actress Krystal Summers (b. 1977).

In the 2012-2013 school year, West Jones High School was classified as a "High Performing School" by the Mississippi Department of Education.
