The western black-headed batis (Batis minor erlangeri) is a species of bird in the Platysteiridae family. It is found in Angola, Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Republic of the Congo, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Gabon, western Kenya, Rwanda, northern Somalia, Sudan, western Tanzania, and Uganda. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry forests and moist savanna. It is usually considered to be a subspecies of the black-headed batis.
