Wikipedia:Ambassadors/Steering Committee/2011-09-09
Appearance
Alex Stinson has resigned from the Wikipedia Ambassador Steering Committee
Attending:
- Chris Cheney
- Donald Albury
- Piotr Konieczny
- Richard Knipel
- Sage Ross (observer)
Chris:
- Tried to get in touch with Jonathan Obar about Canada project
- Sage: Obar is the program advisor for Candada, and is in touch with Frank and Annie
Sage:
- Online Ambassadors are attaching to pods, but slowed by the lack of well-developed course page
- There won't be anyone poking Online Ambassadors to join pods after September, but more course pages and classes will likely still be coming online. Any help from the steering committee and other ambassadors would be appreciated
- Update on expected number of courses and regional ambassador activities:
- About 60 courses known to be committed so far, about 45 of which have course pages started (although not necessarily with much info). A total of about 80 classes is the goal / expectation.
- Most of the Regional Ambassadors have already held trainings in their regions, with a few pending and an online session for those who couldn't attend any of the in-person events.
Richard:
- Regional Ambassador activity is going well. A few more classes are expected in the Metropolis region.
- Multiple local trainings have been taking place in NYC with a few trainees each.
- Potential spread of program to Israel, Kenya via Max Klein
Pior:
- Integration of Ambassadors wiki pages still needs to happen.
- Sage: Annie and LiAnna have plans to work on this soon.
Chris:
- Election process: we should start moving on this soon. Elections should happen in October.
- Chris will send out notices about the pending election around 28 September
- No one has commented on Ambassador Recall Process
- Needs to be publicized more widely, via message to Google Group and Wikipedia talk:Ambassadors. Chris will do this.
- On hold for the moment is the proposal Alex started to specify the role of the steering committee and its relationship to other stakeholders.
