Wikipedia:Bots/Requests for approval/BotanyBot 3

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Operator: Rkitko

Automatic or Manually Assisted: Supervised automatic

Programming Language(s): AWB

Function Summary: Sorting botanical stubs.

Edit period(s) (e.g. Continuous, daily, one time run): Periodic; whenever Rkitko has the time to create lists and supervise the bot.

Edit rate requested: 5 edits per Minute

Already has a bot flag (Y/N): Y

Function Details: Polbot is beginning to run through the IUCN redlist again for plants and is tagging most of the new articles with {{plant-stub}} for convenience (and sometimes the IUCN taxonomy isn't up-to-date). I've been running behind Polbot cleaning up articles as I go along. BotanyBot was approved for category work, and this simple find/replace with direction from me is similar, but I wanted to get approval for the function if there were any questions. I will manually create the lists BotanyBot would run on after Polbot is done spamming us! The function will also be useful when further splitting of the stub categories begins.

Done. See Special:Contributions/BotanyBot for the last 50 edits where I sorted the stubs from {{plant-stub}} to {{monocot-stub}} with the first 50 Anthurium stubs created by Polbot. --Rkitko (talk) 01:52, 21 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
