Automatic, Supervised, or Manual: supervised
Programming language(s): Python
Source code available: Pywikibot GitHub (under-development)
Function overview: Sub-categorize non-free posters in Category:Non-free posters based on the langauge
Links to relevant discussions (where appropriate):
Edit period(s): Regular
Estimated number of pages affected: ~88,000+ initial run, there-after regular runs at regular intervals
Exclusion compliant (Yes/No): Yes
Already has a bot flag (Yes/No): No
Function details: The bot will crawl thru files categorized at Category:Non-free posters (with no other cats). Checks the pages where the files are embedded and determines the language of the films based on the categories. It then adds the category to the {{Non-free poster}}
as a parameter so it is categorized into appropriate subcat. At the moment, the languages supported are limited to the ones at Category:Indian film posters. New categories need to be setup for appropriate languages. If the movie is multi-lingual, then the first category that bot loops would be set in the template parameter, and the following as a normal category. The languages list is prepared from Category:Films by language

[edit]On hold. I see a bit of half-baked proposal here. I'll resume the proposal after gaining a consensus, and better workflow following it. -- DaxServer (talk) 12:41, 23 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
