Delusionism is a contemporary art movement characterized by portraying a contradictory or even comedic subject matter. The word was coined by American contemporary artist Daniel Matthew York [1] to describe his work in which he stated, "I wanted a new word to describe what I do, the nightmare that it is. When you're drawn in [to one of my pieces], your reality is done, it's mine from there. The word works well."
