Freewayguy[edit]

Freewayguy (talk · contribs) - I'm Freewayguy. I am currently in South Orange County, California and I join in on my account in July 10, 2007. I have been enjoy changing stuff on Wikipedia. I am glad to become an administrator one day. Then I could delete contribs, protect (gold lock) on semi-protect (gray lock) pages, and I can block users. Also I like to know if administrators get money from contribution.--Freewayguy (Webmail) 00:28, 8 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Reviews

  • Hi, Freewayguy. Unfortunately, no, nobody gets paid to edit Wikipedia...not even administrators, bureaucrats, or stewards. I think that probably the best thing you could do to help improve your chances of becoming an administrator is to work on improving your language skills. I understand that you're not a native English speaker, and it's not the easiest language to pick up. However, part of being an administrator is being able to communicate clearly with other users. Being able to do so is vital so you can convey why you needed to protect a page or block a user. If another administrator doesn't understand why you made an admin action, they might overturn that action. Better English can help your mainspace contributions, as well. This is probably your weakest point as an editor right now. I hope this helps you in your future endeavors on Wikipedia. —Scott5114 [EXACT CHANGE ONLY] 03:07, 8 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Bad faith accusations such as this are unbecoming of an administrator. --Rschen7754 (T C) 03:19, 8 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Sorry, I cannot endorse Freewayguy. Adminship is much more than locking pages, deleting contributions and blocking users .You must also be able to communicate with other editors and administrators in an effective manner, assume good faith no matter what and expand your horizons. I do not endorse for the following reasons --
  • Bad faith assumptions against Rschen7754. You also do not report a user to WP:AIV for administrator abuse, and at any rate, I cannot find no such abuse that would warrant filing such a frivolous report.
  • Additional bad faith assumptions: [1] [2] [3]
  • AIV is not for administrator abuse.
  • Administrators have never been paid for their contributions.
  • You have very few contributions overall.
  • You do not have broad experience outside of mainspace. seicer | talk | contribs 04:10, 8 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Sorry to say this, but you have a long way to go before you will be considered admin material. I had to remind you once to treat other members with respect. I'm glad you apologized to Ltljltlj after that, but you still seem to have problems with personal attacks. Also, in light of the current situation with WP:MDRD, you should respect a project's consensus, even if you disagree with it.-Jeff (talk) 01:51, 19 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Questions

  1. Of your contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
  2. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?

User:75.47.150.221 I was just advising that user's sockpuppet problem. I just advise him by all those message so he will just shut-up and quit blabbling all over my talk page. I need the talkpage for much more important messages, to answer my vital question. I'm still an high school students at weekdays I only spend my lunch break contributing Wiki for about 30 minutes. On days off, I have more time. I made over 2000 changes now. I'm just giving that using ideas so he will quit whining to me about his issues.--Freewayguy (Webmail) 04:51, 8 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

See 75.47.150.221 is bugging me again. He just won't get over that damn thing and waste my time. I'm only a Junior in high school and only 17 years old, and I don' have authority to deal with those things That user report me like 1000 times today.--Freewayguy (Webmail) 04:56, 8 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Artisol2345 Another of his sockpuppet is User:Aristol2345. Al2TB and Yorkabes is actually his alternative accout. Just becasue people says so doesn't prove to the fact. Previously i thought Rschen7754 was randomly picking on people just becasue they seem close together, I didn't know people would lie. Because some IP is same and people contribute on same place. I am not sure how people actually finds sockpuppet. Maybe people don't even need to know the IP, just i guess the way people makes changes, and date by date pending on when people left off. its better not to randomly pick on people, because this hurts people and force them want to quit. Now I can understand Rschen7754 did not make mistake.--Freewayguy (talk) 01:03, 19 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Second evaluation[edit]

  • Sorry to say this, but you have a long way to go before you will be considered admin material. I had to remind you once to treat other members with respect. • I didn't know I still have personal sttacks. I didn't come here and driving around calling people bad names. Just people thinks Interstate-Guide.com is not a valid source. It is an complete website and open only to people who made this website.--Freewayguy (talk) 03:14, 19 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • I was referring to the edit that Algorerhythms pointed out. It doesn't matter if you disagree with someone, you should still respect them.-Jeff (talk) 03:21, 19 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Thats because the states in pink on interstate-guide didnt get any state-specific shields, until I employ ltljltlj to make those shields for me. he is a great shield maker. Other 49 states probably they can have shields like in history section I think is fine, just as long as they don't get use on infobox, or any 25x20px icons.--Freewayguy (talk) 03:35, 19 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Lets just for the sake of time for other 40 states besides blue color on interstate-guide maps just for the sake of time like is okay in history section; but infobox or small icons is not.--Freewayguy (talk) 19:40, 21 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I dont look like I have personal attack. I didnt do it here so?--Freewayguy (talk) 19:44, 22 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I think the en-4 box you have on your user page may be an overestimation of your abilities; I'd say you're more around en-2 or so. Many times when attempting to read comments you've left on talk pages, I have to scratch my head and read over it four or five times to try and understand what it is you're trying to say, and then many times I'm still not completely sure. I do understand and appreciate the fact that you are trying your best, however. —Scott5114 [EXACT CHANGE ONLY] 20:52, 30 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
    • I think I can make improvement. I've actually live in USA for 12 years in El Toro, South Orange County, California-this has been mention on my userpage. Nothing here is easy to do but I did try my best and try to learn from my previous mistakes and try to make corrections if I have to. I'm still struggling on how to make shields this is why I get obsess over it. --Freewayguy (talk) 02:53, 3 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
    • At times I do get impatient with deletion task forces. This is becasue I have been a little bit busy; and I dont have time to wait too long. I took CAHSEE 3 times English part and hadnt yet pass. Hwever i pass Math section with 382/350 last year, so I don't need to take that again. i do have a habit of spending over 400 minutes on Wiki in one week. This does upset my mom.--Freewayguy (talk) 03:01, 3 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Civility and patience[edit]

You were blocked on Commons for three months due to moving an established user's userpage to commons:User:U NIGGER ASSHOLE U NEVER ANSWER MY COMMENT;S YOU NIGGER WORST CUNT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. That basically blows any chance of your becoming an administrator out the window, as it illustrates an egregious lack of patience and inclination towards incivility. It may require several years of good conduct to recover from that act. —Scott5114 [EXACT CHANGE ONLY] 20:37, 6 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, and this. [4] I don't care how big a hurry you're in, this type of behavior is never acceptable. Never. No. Just don't do it. Ever. No matter what. —Scott5114 [EXACT CHANGE ONLY] 20:42, 6 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'm itching for an indef. block for those death threats alone, but they are at commons. What is the typical course of action for this? seicer | talk | contribs 20:44, 6 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Answered elsewhere. seicer | talk | contribs 20:50, 6 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
(edit conflict) He's done this kind of thing in the past (see the link I posted earlier, as well as a few other edits he made to that page), except he forgot to log out this time... - Algorerhythms (talk) 20:45, 6 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Answer to those questions[edit]
I was waiting for two particlar images to be delete. i was afraid it will take forever and never finalize, becasue its past 13 days, I thought the debates will never end. How much longer will we delete those two pariticular image. I try to avoid do those dangerous behavior here, and I had to understand obsessing the shields is stupid because nobody cares. There might be millions of things more worthwile to do. Image looks purple, yellow, green, blue, white seems like so what to people. Even one of my classmate say its totally dumb to obsess the signs becasue he thought nobody cares.--Freewayguy (talk) 04:46, 7 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Its good I didnt do it here. Otherwise I would be in deep trouble. On Commons I ant become an admin; but I do better over here. Many things here might be far more interesting than worry about shields, I never saw anybody care so much about shield, my dad or mom simply don't care about shields when they drive on freeway, neither does my uncle cousin, anybody, even my sister.--Freewayguy (talk) 04:46, 7 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Actions at other Wikimedia projects can influence the decisions and opinions of editors and administrators here at Wikipedia. This has nothing to do with the image taking "forever" to delete -- it's just simply backlogged, which is not the fault of the administrator. We all have lives outside of the Internet. seicer | talk | contribs 05:00, 7 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
You're not getting the point — that act, in and of itself, illustrates that you lack patience and civility, which are two traits that are desired in administrators. It doesn't matter where it happened. Your past behavior of 'flying off the handle' shows that it is likely that you would use administrator tools (such as blocking and deleting) impulsively, in a manner detrimental to the project. Now, that's not saying it's impossible to become an administrator...but you would have to be willing to reform, and work hard to convince others that you have reformed. As I said before, that may take several years.—Scott5114 [EXACT CHANGE ONLY] 15:47, 7 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I understand when you people cannot be on Wiki 24/7. But I'm wondering when "Image:Interstate 635 (Texas).svg and File:Interstate 94 (Indiana).svg be delete, at least how much longer. Do I have to wait until another 4 days? Because normally what I went thorugh after 11 days the file gets delete, but I never see file taken more than 12 days so now makes me worry the file will not ever be finalize.--Freewayguy (talk) 19:41, 7 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It's entirely possible it will never be deleted. You don't just file a deletion request and it gets deleted; users discuss whether deleting it is a good idea and if it is, then it is deleted. If the general agreement is that it's a good idea to hang on to it, then it's not deleted. And besides, why is it such a big deal that those get deleted so quickly? The only thing that we really need to delete with utmost quickness is BLP and copyright violations, as those directly have a negative effect on people outside Wikipedia. Highway shields which may or may not be redundant to other shields just isn't the top of the administrators' list of concerns. —Scott5114 [EXACT CHANGE ONLY] 02:53, 8 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I try to modify my behavior.--Freewayguy (talk) 19:41, 7 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Answer again[edit]

These two particular images will it ever be delete? Becasue the pink tag cant stay on it forever. The invalid image like showing disgusting things should be list of speedy deeltion. Some is just wrong license, just as long as we fix it we can keep it. Some image is not format right, this doesnt concern me much so those stuff don't need to be delete just as long as people fix it thats okay. I'm woory about duplicate files because wastes space for new highway shields. I like to see more highway signs becasue I think they look cool. Having duplicate image is irritating, thats why I think those two images needs to be deelte soon, I hope one day it will becasue File:Interstate 405 (Oregon).svg, File:Interstate 275 (Michigan).svg, File:Interstate H201 (Hawaii).svg is delete a few days ago because we uplaod mew version with metric units on it.-

    • I understand about images little importance to be delete, some image with improper license, or wrongly made does not need to be delete, all we have to do is fix it. I understand we dont just put pink tag and delete it. Sometimes we vote to keep it.
    • Bad images lack civility or see poeple drunk driving for example, concerns people should be meet for speedy deleteion because this might make people think that guy may be an threat, in that case its serious.
    • Duplicate images is better to delete it in at most 21 days. They imitates and annoys people, and waste rooms for new highway shields. Everybody likes to upload historic shields just for fun because they think it loks hot. Like Wyoming interstate sields I ask somebody to do it becasue I just think it might look hot, just dont use it on article.

-Freewayguy (talk) 04:02, 8 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Can you just be patient and find something else to edit for the time being? Does two shields, which are trivial in their own self in terms of the overall project (as a copy already exists at Commons), really need to consume up most of your time and energy? seicer | talk | contribs 04:23, 8 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
This annoys me immensly whats call "duplicate image". This clogs up space before people upload new shields. I hope they get deelte soon to avoid duplicate images. I'm afraid the deletion debates never close things like this. Anything else besdie duplicate image I don't care.--Freewayguy (talk) 19:39, 8 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The developers in charge of the servers have specifically requested that we not worry about space concerns when going about our day-to-day business on Wikipedia. —Scott5114 [EXACT CHANGE ONLY] 20:03, 8 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I dont understand your meaning. Will these two images ever be finilize? Duplicate images is annoying to be honest.--Freewayguy (talk) 23:41, 8 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
See WP:PERFORMANCE. Also, when images are deleted, they are not erased from the disks; a copy still exists in case they need to be undeleted. Basically, when an image (or article, for that matter) is deleted, it isn't truly "deleted", just made inaccessible to non-administrators. —Scott5114 [EXACT CHANGE ONLY] 00:59, 9 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
How is it annoying? Why are you so pressed to have these two images "deleted"? It's only consuming your time and it's become the primary focus of your energies. seicer | talk | contribs 01:09, 9 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
