Wikipedia:Education Working Group/Kick-Off Meeting

The Working Group Kick-Off Meeting is the event, taking place July 16–17, 2012, in Washington, D.C., immediately following Wikimania, where the Working Group will come together in person with Wikimedia Foundation staff to begin planning the future of the U.S. and Canada Education Programs.

What are the goals of the Kick-Off Meeting?

The Working Group Kick-Off Meeting will be successful if:

Meeting participants have a shared understanding of how the U.S. and Canada Wikipedia Education Programs currently work.
Meeting participants have agreed on one concrete concept for what the new structure will be and how Wikipedians and academics can work together.
Meeting participants have decided on an action plan (timeline, methods of communication, roles, etc.) for exact next steps after the Kick-Off Meeting.
Working Group members have grouped themselves into task forces, each with its own topic(s) of issues to work out in the months following the Kick-Off Meeting.
