[edit]Serving as a Wikipedia Ambassador
[edit]Now that you've completed the Ambassador training, have the appropriate Ambassador user right, and have created an Ambassador profile, you're ready to work with educators and student editors in the Wikipedia Education Program.
Suggested tasks
[edit]- Help identify and recruit instructors on your campus who would be a good fit for a Wikipedia assignment
- Work with interested instructors on your campus in adapting existing teaching methods to include Wikipedia-editing
- Provide face-to-face training and support for the participating instructors' students on Wikipedia-related skills. This means doing in-class presentations, possibly holding office hours, and in general providing in-person mentorship for students.
- Watch contributions from student editors in your class and provide feedback and guidance
- Set up a Wikipedia help desk on your campus
- Recruit and mentor new Wikipedia Ambassadors through their on-boarding process
