Q. What does UTL's Wikipedia project look like?

A. UTL has a Wikipedian-in-Residence. UTL's Wikipedian-in-Residence 1) makes the institution's digital collections more publicly accessible through Wikipedia, and 2) helps surrounding communities share their knowledge on Wikipedia through educational programming.

Q. How does UTL's Wikipedia project benefit the public?

A. Research libraries are historically trusted sources of deep, verified knowledge. UTL, in particular, is home to a wealth of digitised collections that can broadly benefit researchers and interested members of the public. By putting these materials on Wikipedia where they can be easily found and read in context, UTL improves the quantity and quality of free and open knowledge.

Q. Is UTL open to Wiki-related collaborations?

A. Yes! Please send an email to the current Wikipedian-in-Residence, Alex Jung (jya.jung@mail.utoronto.ca).
