Account Creation process

Wikipedia has a limit on the number of accounts that can be created in a day at one IP address. In past years, we have asked people to request additional permissions. Starting in 2019 we are shifting to using Dashboard to create accounts.

The new Wikipedia:ACPERM rule also prevents new editors from creating pages; all event organizers can request Event Coordinators permissions, which will allow you to confirm accounts, which will allow them to publish new pages. Ask for these powers a week or so prior to your events; they will be removed after them.
