This is Wikipedia, friends, this is not a barbarian horde.
Yes, you may feel like the Ghengis Khan of free content, shouting exhilarating, loud, edgy profanities as you sweep across the plains with your rowdy horsemen, galloping and yelling vulgar free speech as you advance towards the West to spear and snag all that free content, all that free content that has been locked up and imprisoned in those great walled cities of content of the West ... but ...
Hold your horses!
This is an encyclopedia, this is not a barbarian horde.
Many here believe in the civilizing mission of the encyclopedia. Many here believe in the battle against ignorance. Many believe in raising the world's cultural level, so the internet isn't just a vast wasteland of worthless trash.
Who are the next billion users of the internet?
How many of the next billion users have already experienced war, hunger, crime, genocide, fled as refugees, been imprisoned? How many of the next billion users are looking here for something uplifting, something happy or entertaining?
As the next billion users come online, the vast majority of serious seekers of knowledge in the world will be seeking knowledge with the hope that they will "Lift our people up!"
Are you one of the people lifting our people up, or do you want to be just another barbarian?
