Suggestion
[edit]Merge 3RR into the Edit war policy or simply delete it. Way too often we get unblock requests from edit warriors who complain "I didn't break 3RR!", etc. That page is almost an exact duplicate of WP:EW, with bits taken from the four "related" pages mentioned above. Since 3RR is more-or-less a guideline on when blocks can be made for edit warring (I think it's been given policy status just so admins feel better blocking on those grounds, but that doesn't make sense either since disruptive editing is only a guideline). It's about how to enforce a given policy, and just provides a more narrowed interpretation of it, which has been abused as I previously mentioned. As such, it should be included in that policy rather than being touted as a separate policy. Hersfold (t/a/c) 20:03, 14 September 2008 (UTC)
Discussion
[edit]I agree that 3RR should be merged. It is essentially an electric fence providing a well-accepted metric for edit warring. It could be covered sufficiently in a handful of sentences as a section in WP:EW. Vassyana (talk) 07:19, 16 September 2008 (UTC)
