Imperial College is looking for volunteers to participate in a study of Hypoactive Sexual Desire Disorder (HSDD). Participants must be male, of full age, straight (as opposed to gay) and right-handed. What is the significance of dexterity? 81.147.142.101 (talk) 09:25, 4 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

It is likely the researchers want to use neural imaging to compare the brain activity of participants with the disorder (while subjected to erotic stimuli) with a control group. As brain-activity patterns are different depending on handedness, they can eliminate one potentially confounding factor by selecting participants with the same handedness. By choosing right-handed, it will be easier to find volunteers meeting the requirements.  --Lambiam 13:29, 4 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
81.147.142.101—is the request available online? Would it be possible to post a link so the wording could be seen? Bus stop (talk) 02:58, 5 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
