Wikipedia:TheWikiWizard/Blink Rule
TheWikiWizard’s cool!
(TWW Main Page - Talk - TWW Lite - Code of Conduct - Drafting Station - Created by つがる)This page contains material that is kept because it is considered humorous. Such material is not meant to be taken seriously. |
This page in a nutshell: People that are too lazy to work on TWW can just do it for 1 month or less! |
TheWikiWizard has some rules about users that become editors of the newspaper and hold their spot for 1 month or less. These rules are called the Blink Rule and editors under this rule are called “Blink users”. They can work in any position with the exception of Editor/Creator/Management. After the Blink Rule has expired on the editor, they will no longer have that position.
By the way, the name comes from how short the position is held, blink and you may miss it! (Becomes a blink user for a blink)
Requirements
[edit]These requirements must be met before applying for the Blink Rule:
- Your account must be at least 15 days old, with at least 100 edits. (IPs cannot be given the Blink Rule)
- You must have a fair understanding of the Code of Conduct and Wikipedia’s policies
Roles
[edit]Here are some roles that Blink users can apply for.
Blink Chief-Editor
[edit]A Blink Chief-Editor has to meet the same requirements and has the same tools and roles as a normal Chief-Editor, with the exception that they are in this position for 1 month or less. Instead of filing a Request For Chief-Editor (RFCE), they request for Blink Chief-Editor on this page’s talk page. A Blink Chief-Editor position is useful for a test-run, or if you’re coming back and don’t know if you want to fully return to Chief-Editor. Please note that if you are using this role improperly, you can be removed at any time.
There is also a Waitlist Exception for this role, which means if you have one, you will be placed on the Waitlist after your Blink Rule is up. You can either exit the Waitlist to become a normal Chief-Editor, or you can remove yourself from the Waitlist. Click here for more info about Chief-Editors.
Blink Coordinators (Assistant Editors/Coordinators)
[edit]Not much to say here, as Blink Assistant Editors/Coordinators (often shortened to Blink Coordinators cause the full name’s too long) do what they do: create articles and just play a supporting role in TWW.
