WP:Biographies of living persons
- Added subsection: WP:BLP#A note on marital status
WP:Naming conventions
- Nutshell was shortened.
WP:Neutral point of view
- WP:NPOV#Undue weight got a substantial rewrite.
- In WP:NPOV#Balance, change to "give precedence to those sources that are most reliable and verifiable."
- Deleted: "Blinded By Science: How 'Balanced' Coverage Lets the Scientific Fringe Hijack Reality — Chris Mooney, Columbia Journalism Review. A valuable warning to Wikipedians about how some methods used to balance coverage can lead to biased, inaccurate and misleading reporting."
WP:No original research
- New subsection: WP:NOR#Using sources
- WP:NOR#Primary, secondary, and tertiary sources was moved and became a level-2 heading, with a few additions: "topic or event", videos, maps and patents.
WP:Non-free content criteria
- Added "or publicly displayed" to "Non-free content must have been published outside Wikipedia."
- Removed "and its omission would be detrimental to that understanding" from point #8
WP:Verifiability
- Added pointer to Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Noticeboard
- See Wikipedia:Update/Content policy changes during October 2008 for changes that were reverted in October
- Added to WP:Verifiability#Questionable sources: "Because of this, they can be treated similarly to the way self-published sources are treated."
- Added to WP:Verifiability#Self-published sources: "For example, a reliable self-published source on a given subject is likely to have been cited on that subject as authoritative by a reliable source."
- In WP:Verifiability#Self-published and questionable sources about themselves, changed "self-published sources" to "most self-published sources"
- In WP:Verifiability#Further reading, added False Authority On the importance of looking for many sources.
