Colin Payne (b. 1978) is a South African exhibition designer and artist. Having lived in Cape Town for most of his life, Payne is often influenced by his environment and popular culture.[1] His multi-media three-dimensional creations incorporate the styles of graphic design, cartoons, animation, video games, and action figures.[2] Payne interprets these influences as modern parallels of myths and legends.[3] Major exhibitions include the Spier Outdoor Sculpture Biennial II, 2004; Pola Museum Annex, Tokyo; a solo show at 34 Long, Cape Town; Gordart Gallery, Johannesburg; and Spier Contemporary 2010.[2]
