Wikipedia:WikiProject Historical Atlas/BD

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Wikipedia:WikiProject Historical Atlas/BD is the Boundaries Department of the Wikiproject Historical Atlas. The Boundaries Department has the purpose of perfecting the accuracy of boundaries of countries or other entities on the historical atlas.

Methods[edit]

The methods of creating accurate boundaries on maps are:

  1. Copying boundaries from existing online maps on our maps.
  2. Adjusting boundaries of existing online maps, when it is needed. For instance due to minor differences in scale or due to historical investigation.
  3. Creating own boundaries, when there are non-sufficient examples of boundaries to be found online.

For the inexperienced[edit]

If you want to join this project and make maps, but you have no experience, than the boundary department will make tutorials on how to draw and scale maps.
