Wikipedia:WikiProject Military history/Peer review/Attack on Sydney Harbour/APR

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The following suggestions were generated by a semi-automatic javascript program, and might not be applicable for the article in question.

  • Please expand the lead to conform with guidelines at Wikipedia:Lead. The article should have an appropriate number of paragraphs as is shown on WP:LEAD, and should adequately summarize the article.[?]
  • Per Wikipedia:Manual of Style (numbers), there should be a non-breaking space -   between a number and the unit of measurement. For example, instead of 9 kilometres, use 9 kilometres, which when you are editing the page, should look like: 9 kilometres.[?]
    • Done to some degree. I may not have found them all. -- saberwyn 07:28, 2 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Per Wikipedia:Manual of Style (headings), headings generally do not start with articles ('the', 'a(n)'). For example, if there was a section called ==The Biography==, it should be changed to ==Biography==.[?]
  • There are a few sections that are too short and that should be either expanded or merged.
    • With no definition of too short and no exmaples, I can only assume the program is talking about the "Kuttabul" section in Aftermath. This section was/is tagged for expansion and details of what that expansion would entail are listed on the article's talk page. -- saberwyn 07:30, 2 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Please make the spelling of English words consistent with either American or British spelling, depending upon the subject of the article. Examples include: honor (A) (British: honour), honour (B) (American: honor), harbour (B) (American: harbor), meter (A) (British: metre), metre (B) (American: meter), defence (B) (American: defense), realise (B) (American: realize), travelled (B) (American: traveled).
    • The entire article is in Australian (British) English, with the sole exception of the word harbor, used only as part of the proper name Pearl Harbor. -- saberwyn 07:28, 2 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Please ensure that the article has gone through a thorough copyediting so that it exemplifies some of Wikipedia's best work. See also User:Tony1/How to satisfy Criterion 1a.[?]
