Orienteering articles has assessment guidelines that helps with assessing importance for articles. The guidelines doesn't give indications in all cases but gives help in finding what is important in Wikipedia from orienteering point of view.

Biographies
[edit]Importance | Criteria |
---|---|
High | Innovators and pioneers in the orienteering sport |
High | Orienteer that has at least two gold medals and totally six medals from championships |
Mid | Orienteer that has at least one individual gold medals and totally four medals from championships |
Low | Orienteer, the rest that doesn't meet any of the criteria above |
Importance can be heightened by one step if an orienteer is somehow remarkable or comes from an English speaking country.
Organizations, federations and clubs

Mid | Country specific organizations that has more then 20 orienteers (in Wikipedia) in the specific country |
High | Clubs that have achieved ten victories in large relays like Jukola and Tiomila |
Mid | Clubs that have achieved five victories in large relays like Jukola and Tiomila |
Low | Clubs that have achieved four or less victories in large relays like Jukola and Tiomila |
Importance can be heightened by one step if an organization is somehow remarkable or comes from an English speaking country.
Events

Low | Events with less then 1000 participants and is in somewhat remarkable to meet the notability criteria for Wikipedia |
