The railroad of The Brownstone & Middletown Railroad Company, hereinafter called the carrier, is a single-track standard-gauge steam railroad extending southwardly from Brownstone to Waltonville, Pa., a distance of 2.428 miles. The carrier wholly owns and uses 3.023 miles of all track, which are classified in the trackage statement in Appendix 1.


CORPORATE HISTORY

The carrier was incorporated February 8, 1892, under the general railroad laws of the State of Pennsylvania, for the purpose of operating a railroad from Brownstone to Waltonville.

DEVELOPMENT OF FIXED PHYSICAL PROPERTY

The mileage owned by the carrier, amounting to 2.428 miles, was acquired on February 8, 1892, by purchase from the Hummelstown Brownstone Company, through Allen K. Walton, trustee.
