Location and general description of property.—The railroad of the Gulf Ports Terminal Railway Company, hereinafter called the carrier, is a single track standard-gauge steam railroad, located in Florida and Alabama. The main line extends from Pensacola, Fla., to Pomono, Ala., a distance of 46.592 miles. The carrier also owns 5.530 miles of yard tracks and sidings. The road thus embraces 52.122 miles of all tracks owned, which are classified in the trackage table in Appendix 1.


CORPORATE HISTORY

The carrier was incorporated December 18, 1916, under the general laws of the State of Florida, for the purpose of acquiring the property, rights, and franchises of the Pensacola, Mobile and New Orleans Railway Company, which was done.
