The railroad of The Ironton Railroad Company, herein called the Ironton Railroad, is a single-track, standard-gage, steam railroad, located in the State of Pennsylvania. The owned mileage consists of a main line extending from Ironton to Coplay, with branches extending to Siegersville, Catasauqua, and Eberharts.


CORPORATE HISTORY

The Ironton Railroad was incorporated March 4, 1859, by a special act of the General Assembly of Pennsylvania, for the stated purpose of acquiring and operating a railroad to extend from Ironton, Pa., to a connection with other railroads. By an agreement dated February 15, 1917, this company and the Thomas Railroad agreed to consolidate, subject to the approval of the Public Service Commission of Pennsylvania. This approval has not been obtained as of date of valuation.
