The railroad of the Savannah and Statesboro Railway Company, herein called the Savannah and Statesboro, is a single-track, standard-gage, steam railroad, located in Georgia. The main line extends from Cuyler northwesterly to Statesboro, a distance of 32.685 miles. The Savannah and Statesboro also owns 5.053 miles of yard tracks and sidings. Its road thus embraces 37.738 miles of all tracks owned. The Savannah and Statesboro has trackage rights over road of the Seaboard from Cuyler to Savannah a distance of about 20 miles.


CORPORATE HISTORY

The Savannah and Statesboro was incorporated October 19, 1897, under the general laws of the State of Georgia. It succeeded the Cuyler and Woodburn Railroad Company whose property was sold March 12, 1897, at foreclosure sale, to individuals who conveyed title to the Savannah and Statesboro in 1897. The Cuyler and Woodburn Railroad Company, the only predecessor of this company, was incorporated on October 16, 1894, under the general incorporation act of Georgia, approved December 17, 1892.

The owned mileage of the Savannah and Statesboro, amounting to 32.685 miles, has been acquired by it as indicated hereunder:

By purchase from Hutchins, Wood, and Robertson, comprising the property of the Cuyler and Woodburn Railroad Company, which these individuals had acquired at foreclosure sale on Dec. 4, 1897. This property had been constructed by the Cuyler and Woodburn Railroad Company about 1894, Cuyler to Hubert 12.500
