Assignment - Introduction

Welcome to the course timeline for the Wikipedia assignment. This page guides you through the steps you'll need to complete each week for your Wikipedia assignment, which is due on May 5.

1) Create an account and join this course page, using the enrollment link provided on Brightspace.

2) Skim these two brochures to get a sense of how Wikipedia works and how you might contribute to an article. You may return to review these guides over the course of the semester.

3) Complete the above two training modules.

4) Choose a partner in your section with whom you'd like to collaborate on editing an article and sign up your group on the Google Doc.

In class - Propose your Contribution

In collaboration with your group, choose an article and submit a 500-word proposal, due April 12, about how your group plans to expand the article. You may find the above two optional exercises helpful. You may find the below three topic guides useful in imagining how your group might improve an article, particularly the one on biographies.
