Writing About and With Poetry is a public-facing writing seminar and workshop class. Each week, the 12 students in the seminar are divided into Writer/Editor groups to complete a different public-facing writing assignment: reviews, feature articles, short-form essays, etc. Each of our 6 assignments goes through 3 drafts and an intensive in-class peer review. Our class content centers on poetry with an emphasis on English poetry written before 1800. Our Wikipedia assignment will be a group assignment, managed in parts, and completed by the end of the semester (April 21, 2023). I have identified the Wikipedia entry on Andrew Marvell's poem, "The Garden" as an ideal article for our class to expand and develop. The students will work individually and in groups to add well-researched, well-written content to the existing entry.
