This course is a seminar course in which beginning graduate students will take turns leading discussions (in pairs) of primary literature and book excerpts related to dispersal of native and non-native species in aquatic systems. I think reserving some time each week, as well as in several dedicated classes, to wikipedia editing projects related to these topics would be interesting to these students. They are transitioning from being undergraduate students to graduate students, and so in addition to learning new material this assignment should give them valuable editing and critical thinking skills they may not have gotten during their undergraduate studies.
