This course examines the development and influence of select schools of anthropological thought and practice from the 19th century to the present. Students will identify how individual scholars have shaped the discipline through their efforts to foster distinct theoretical schools, and will additionally examine the role of institutions, communities, and other collaborators in the production of anthropological knowledge.
