Volunteers are a key to the success of the activities done by the club. Students, and anyone else who is passionate and is interested in contributing to Wikipedia and the club activities can request to join the club and they'll be updated with the ongoing projects, campaigns and workshops which they could participate in.
In the wide array of activities that are conducted by the club, one can contribute through whichever kind of work he is most comfortable with and best at.
A large majority of the volunteers in the club are students. The young mind is capable of giving the most creative and passionate inputs. The students need not have to be from a particular field of study.
One can join the club and take direct initiative: WCP (Wikipedia Club Pune) invites people to be a part of the club and spread the word of mouth in different schools/colleges/institutions.
One can start a WCP group in a school/college and create a WCP linkage with the institution.

Learning curve: For the newbies who do not know how to edit Wikipedia or how to contribute to other Wiki Projects, it is suggested that they enroll themselves in the next Wiki Academy Batch.
Mentoring: Once one is done with the Wiki Academy and Wiki Diksha Program of the club he/she can become the club's official mentor.
Academics play vital role in the development of Wikipedia. With their strong knowledge-base in their respective fields, they can contribute to Wikipedia on the common ground that both function in - to have knowledge and information free and open to all.
Academics can sign up for Wikipedia workshops at their respective schools/colleges.
They can train teachers and staff members in Wiki Diksha Program, making them active Wikipedia editors.
One of the aims of the club is to spread the usage of Wikipedia in education. Professors can make use of Wikibooks,and Wikiversity learning resources as teaching and reference material.
Acamedics can educate parents about Wikipedia, its usage and how their children can benefit from this.
They can help in writing articles, books and other publications for Wikipedia and the club.
Also, academics can help the club in conducting meetings and can also provide computers or computer labs and internet connection for the workshops and camps with their institution as the venue.
The club seeks volunteers for creating articles, blogs and press news on Wikipedia and other club activities.
Also, the club is planning to launch a printed newsletter with the articles related to Wikipedia and other Wiki projects. Contribution to this bulletin is also encouraged.
