Hi Doctree, You've been matched as my mentor. I will look around the profiles whose page I like and let you know about it, so that we both can start to work on my page "David Strossmayer", which is right now one big mess with final warning from the Wikipedia Admin to prohibit me editing the page!!! Looking fw to work with you! Sincerely Uzi Oz-Pharaoh עוזי אוז UziOz (talk) 00:29, 30 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Mentoring

[edit]

Hello, Doctree; I'm looking for a mentor, and, you sound like just what I need.

I'm also a Science writer (novice?)!

I began writing general Science (pardon my continual capitalization of That word) articles/essays, a couple of years ago, for a daily newsletter at my organization.

My experience in Science began as an amateur astronomer, after I received my third telescope, for Christmas, around age 21. I had always had an interest in Astronomy and I had two, previous, toy-like Newtonian reflector scopes, w/ball-and-socket mountings, also as Christmas presents. Minimal as these were, I did make use of them, I guess, but, it wasn't until I got my third scope, a 60mm, equatorially-mounted, Sears refractor scope with a set of star charts that I came to take it more seriously.
Well, to make an obviously, endless story short (;-)), I gained an interest in many other sciences, as well, and especially paleoanthropology and primatology (human origins, etc.). I'm, also, "not elderly" (I'll be 58 tomorrow!) and figure I've got an audience out there, desperately in need of introduction, and, possibly, a developing fascination with Science.
Moreover, I think I've got some punctuation issues (as you might have noticed) and some problems in consistency. I could sure use some advice on those things, if that suits you. I hope to hear back from you soon!
