Wikipedia is the encyclopedia anyone can edit and its centrality to the internet shapes how we contribute and access information. It is an important part of the public's perspective on Poetry, with nearly 10,000 articles about various poets, poems, poetry books and poetry concepts. Your job for this assignment will be to create a well-researched and well-written article about one of William Blake’s poems from his collection, Songs of Innocence and of Experience.
This assignment focuses on three learning goals:
- Applying the poetry analysis and communication skills you’ve gleaned in Engl. 362 to a public-oriented community of practice (Wikipedia)
- Learn about the scholarly materials available about poetry
- Summarize that scholarship in an organized manner accessible to public readers
