Students will read a broad representation of Young Adult (YA) texts and concomitant theoretical essays and critical articles. This course will explore the history of, characteristics of, benefits of, and problems surrounding this ambiguously defined genre. As part of the course, students will be improving articles on the English Wikipedia in Young Adult literature, such has Holes by Louis Sachar and The Giver by Lois Lowry.
