Hello (Karen_at_Uni_of_Leeds—Lajmmoore—Leedsproject2019—RhianEIsaac)
I've been thinking about curating resources at UoL around editing Wikipedia and contributing to Wikimedia...makes sense to do it on a Wiki, and really want something like Edinburgh!
We've got a fair few resources through the Wikimedia Champions project that I'll probably start with, some of which are linked here https://leedsunilibrary.wordpress.com/2023/10/04/championing-knowledge-equity-with-wikimedia/
This wiki never really took off but I'll try to develop it a bit and wondered if others might be interested in trying to resurrect it? Could even have a mini-editathon! cc @Sara Thomas (WMUK):

- Yes! I think @Richard Nevell (WMUK) started this page when Hope was running the placement project at Leeds Museums. If you want to re-jig it @OAnick go for it!
- A couple of different volunteers editors now have mentioned to me that we should organise a Meet-up (at a weekend, for everyone) and I think that might be a nice place to start to build some wider Leeds community? (in addition to the uni community you've built, Nick) I'm happy to get the ball rolling, but for vairous reasons you can't depend on me being able to actually attend - so it would need to be a bit of team effort! - The dim and distant world of 2019! Having a hub on wiki to share the resources sounds like a good idea to me. Richard Nevell (WMUK) (talk) 14:27, 4 December 2023 (UTC)
- All the above sounds good stuff. Nthep (talk) 09:48, 5 December 2023 (UTC)
- Editathon sounds good @OAnick! Sara Thomas (WMUK) (talk) 12:33, 5 December 2023 (UTC)
- I'd definitely be up for an editathon, I'm a bit rusty. I would love to try and get some more library colleagues editing too. RhianEIsaac (talk) 11:09, 14 December 2023 (UTC)
