New section tab

The "New section" tab opens to another talk page. Is that the intent? PlanetCare (talk)

it looks like another talk page but when you save there you'll see that it's added a new section here. You can also manually add a new section by using the == signs to signify a new heading (in source code).EvMsmile (talk) 11:50, 6 March 2017 (UTC)

Little blue arrow with some links but not with others

How do we get all of the "here" references to be in blue, and have that little arrow? Could you make that consistent throughout, so there's always one of those little arrows after the word here? PlanetCare (talk) 14:17, 6 March 2017 (UTC)

the little arrow only appears when it's an external link. For internal links there is no little arrow (we call them wikilinks). You create hyperlinks by clicking on the chain symbol above (when in edit mode) or by using the square double brackets around the word. More information about linking: H:L

Why only 48 hours

Hi, what a great initiative! I'll dust off my old Wikipedia knowledge and see if I can help. I'm just wondering why this will last only 48 hours, especially at a time when many people working in WASH will be busy with Word Water Day prep, instead of a longer period (like a month)? Hi, User:Korrigan the Wikipedia Edit-a-thon event has been settled during those specific days as WASH specialists knows about it, it is easier to have a greater impact ! You can edit Wikipedia anytime. Please let us know what you’re working on. This effort is supported by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation grant to SuSanA. The project team wants to know how many SuSanA members contribute to the Edit-a-Thon.

Hi, User:Korrigan that's great, welcome! I see you have a Wikipedia account since many years so yes, now is a good chance to dust it off and put it to good use! I actually agree with your suggestion that perhaps we should have planned it for the whole of March... But having that "deadline" for World Water Day was convenient because... well you know deadlines do work! We also wanted the improved material to be available before World Water Day itself in case journalists and the general public are looking up information around that day. So we will have a virtual room in Adobe Connect set up where people can ask for help or just mingle and chat (for 48 hours during 19-20 March). - But I've set up the Monitoring System (Outreach Dashboard) to monitor edits from the group for the whole month of March. And I am hoping that some people will enjoy it so much that they will continue and become part of the WikiProject Sanitation and then join us again for an edit-a-thon for World Toilet Day in November?EMsmile (talk) 19:02, 14 March 2017 (UTC)

Thanks both for the answers. Yes I used to be active mostly on frwiki (and suffer heavily from Wikipedia addiction) so I may focus on translations. I'll be away travelling between 19 and 22 March but may help before or after, who knows.
