Draft not listed on News on Wiki

[edit]

My draft page is not on this News for wiki. I am working on Daily Sun News. What should I do? MiCorr (talk) 11:27, 29 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @MiCorr: Sorry to miss this question earlier. I see the Daily Sun listed as #34 on this page: Wikipedia:WikiProject Newspapers/States/Washington The link you are working on is at the end of the line: Draft:Daily Sun News. The article is looking good, and I think it's probably ready to publish (i.e., move it out of the "draft" stage). I know today is the last day of your assignment; I'll come back to this discussion about noon Pacific time today in case you have further questions or clarifications. -Pete Forsyth (talk) 18:12, 2 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Pete, I am so glad to hear from you. Sorry I missed the News on Wiki link. I moved my article from the draft to recently created article. I listed in categories Washington State Newspapers. I hope to keep in contact with you for other News on Wiki opportunities.--MiCorr (talk) 06:53, 3 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Fork of WikiProject newspapers

[edit]

Checking back in on this initiative, I see that it's been tagged as a WikiProject. WP:WikiProject Newspapers already exists, and if this initiative wants to be regarded as a WikiProject, it needs to articulate why it is different and not just a project fork, and even then, it'd probably be better structured as a task force than as a standalone project. The attention to newspapers is very much welcome, since it's important we have good coverage of them, but let's make good use of established resources rather than reinventing the wheel. {{u|Sdkb}}talk 23:04, 21 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

That may have been an error on my part. I was trying to make the page look better and copied over the infobox from WP:WikiProject Newspapers and that may have come with it. I'll fix. Jessamyn (talk) 23:30, 21 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
