Can I send invitations to new members for your project?

[edit]

Hi, I have been working on recommending new members for your project for a while, and have sent some lists to Abishe who helped invite those recommended editors. I wonder if you mind me sending invitations directly to save time and efforts of yours? Thank you! Bobo.03 (talk) 19:44, 24 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Bobo.03:, I wanted to thank you for your efforts one again to select new members for the WikiProject Squash. One of the members, Dr. Vogel that you proposed for our project was fantastic and he was a really good find for WikiProject Squash as he went onto turn the red link biographies into blue links who are notable enough as squash players (players who were part of 2017 PSA World Tour, 2018 PSA World Tour). Thanks in advance for your awesome research works and survey. Thanks a lot. Abishe (talk) 09:14, 26 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Abishe: That's really great to know! Happy to continue finding more new members for you! I am also working on other projects, and hope they will help WikiProjects as well. Bobo.03 (talk) 18:35, 26 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, of course. The more, the merrier. We need to reactivate this project. Dr. Vogel (talk) 00:19, 27 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, on a second thought, i just listed myself in the member list, after Bobo.03 contacted me on my talk page. While I won't be able to contribute much in respect of new articles, please feel free to contact me in case of any questions regardings squash, the psa world tour and its players. I created ~ 1400 squash related articles in the German wikipedia, so I might be some of help if you need any information. - Squasher (talk) 16:31, 5 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Discord

[edit]

Hey all, I hope everyone is safe and healthy. My name is HickoryOughtShirt?4 and I'm a member of WikiProject Ice Hockey. I was wondering if there was any interest in starting a WikiProject Sports channel on Discord? There's quite a few of us who are interested in sports, and I think it would be a good idea to help the WikiProject recruit more members. You guys can join us through here.HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 00:12, 13 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Misleading importance ratings

[edit]

I have noticed that several squash-related articles such as those of the form Squash at the xxxx World Games are rated as low-importance for the project, which is kinda stupid considering that it is the highest level of multi-sport event Squash has ever been a part of prior to the 2028 LA Olympics. You definitely have a point. Are you going to work on those articles? Either way with the low volume of editors for squash related articles, I think the driving factor for if an article get updated is more which articles are of interest to each editor. The other view could also be that since there are limited editors we have to be a bit more picky of what articles are rated at higher levels of importance, so the work get focused there first. What do you think? KeepItGoingForward (talk) 19:05, 5 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
