Wiki-stalking - According to the Wikipedia Arbitration Committee the term "wiki-stalking" has been coined to describe following a contributor around the wiki, editing the same articles as the target, with the intent of causing annoyance or distress to another contributor. This is distinct from following a contributor in order to clear repeated errors.[1]

The Arbitration Committee and Wikipedia founder Jimbo Wales have banned editors who engage in wiki-stalking for the purpose of harassment against other editors.

Wiki-stalking precedents[edit]

  • User:The Recycling Troll (TRT) banned indefinately by Jimbo Wales for "pestering RickK pointlessly and writing inane messages to the mailing list" on complaint by RickK against TRT for "stalking me and voting the opposite from my votes on VfD," March 2005. [2] [3]
  • User:Skyring "banned for wikistalking" by the Arbitration Committee. Penalty imposed for the duration of 1 year, August 2005.[4]
