It would be good to clarify for readers who have not studied American history (i.e. most of the non-US readership) what war this battle was part of. I can understand it might not be necessary in the article, as those visiting it are likely to know what they are looking at or for, but when the article has not been sought out, it seems useful.
Also not keen on repetition of the word garrison in a sentence. Suggest edit first sentence to read "The Capture of Fort Ticonderoga occurred within the American Revolutionary war on May 10, 1775, when a small force of Green Mountain Boys led by Ethan Allen and Colonel Benedict Arnold overcame and looted a small British garrison."
