William "Willie" Fisher (born 14 March 1940 in Craigneuk) is a former Scottish boxer.

Amateur career

Fisher represented Great Britain at the 1960 Rome Olympic Games. He won a bronze medal at light middleweight. William (Billy) was always a very shy person. Even after winning his Olympic bronze medal he remained very humble and was always a bit embarrassed when someone would ask for his autograph. He was never the sort of person to step into the limelight and shied away from anything that would make him appear to be anything more than just another boxer doing what he liked to do. He is a credit to his country and his home town.

Pro career

Fisher turned pro in 1961 and spent his entire career fighting in Great Britain. He retired in 1967 with a record of 21-12 with 9 KO.
