William L. Ballhaus (born c. 1967) is an American businessman. Ballhaus is the Chairman, Chief Executive Officer, and President of Blackboard, Inc.[1] He formerly served as the Chief Executive Officer and President of DynCorp, a private military contractor, from 2003 to 2008. He serves as the Chief Executive Officer and President of SRA International, a private intelligence corporation.

Early life

William L. Baullhaus was born circa 1968.[2]

Baullhaus graduated from the University of California, Davis, where he received a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering.[2][3][4] He received a master's degree and a PhD in astronautics from Stanford University.[2][3][4] He also received a master in business administration from the UCLA Anderson School of Management.[2][3][4]

Business career

Baullhaus served as the President of BAE Systems Network Systems, National Security Solutions and Mission Solutions from 2003 to May 2008.[3][4] He served as the Chief Executive Officer and President DynCorp from May 2008 to August 2010.[3][4][5] Additionally, he served on the Boards of Directors of Dyncop International and GeoEye.[3]

He has served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of SRA International since July 25, 2011.[2][3] He earns US$840,000 annually as well as "a $5.5 million signing bonus and a $2 million retention bonus" and "$1 million in restricted holding common stock."[5]

Philanthropy

Baullhaus formerly served on the Board of Trustees of the Great Meadow Foundation.[3] He serves on the Board of Visitors of the UCLA Anderson School of Management.[3][6]

Baullhaus is a Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics.[3]
