William Phelps (priest)

William Whitmarsh Phelps[1] (b Wilton, Wiltshire 1815 – d Carlisle 1867) was Archdeacon of Carlisle[2] from 1863 until 1867.
Phelps was educated at Corpus Christi College, Oxford. He was a Assistant Master at Harrow School and Perpetual curate at Holy Trinity, Reading until his appointment as Archdeacon.[3]
He died on 22 June 1863.[4]
