William Singer

William Singer was the former alderman of the 44th and 43rd wards^[1] of Chicago. From 1969 to 1971 he represented the 44th ward on the North Side. His victory was by a razor-thin 427 votes. In a redrawn ward map, Singer served as alderman of the city's 43rd ward from 1971 to 1975. In 1972, he spearheaded a coalition of delegates to the Democratic national convention in Miami along with Jesse Jackson. In 1975 he lost a run for mayor against Richard J. Daley.^[2]
